Jayden Keith Gregory, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 21. He was born on April 16, 2003, in Greenwood, SC, and most recently resided in Antreville, SC.
Jayden had a zest for life that was infectious. Despite facing numerous challenges from an early age, including a cardiac arrest at just five weeks old and being diagnosed with Lennox Gaustaut Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, at the age of nine, Jayden never let his circumstances define him. Doctors initially predicted he would never walk or communicate, but Jayden proved them wrong with his determination and unwavering spirit.
Music was Jayden's passion. His favorite was rap and he loved watching music videos. He also found joy in playing baseball with the Greenwood Miracle League. In his free time, Jayden loved indulging in his favorite foods, including mini muffins, honey buns, and of course his milk. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his love for cuddling, and the joy he brought to those around him. He was a bonafide and proud Mama's Boy and he adored all his Mama's kisses. He was a true blessing and inspiration to everyone who knew him.
Jayden is survived by his parents, Kimberly Haynie and Brandon Griffin; siblings, Anthony Gregory, and Jadie and Duncan Griffin; special cousins, Hunter and Lexi Blackmon; grandparents, Charles "Skip" Haynie (Tina), Debbie Haynie, Lynn Clark, Terry Gregory (Jan), and Kim Griffin; his beloved pet, Deuce, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout his life; and his extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Gregory and brother, Noah Gregory.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Harley Funeral Home on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 3 – 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jayden's funeral expenses c/o Harley Funeral Home, PO Box 777, Greenwood, SC 29648.
Jayden's memory will forever live in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call him family or friend. Rest in peace, dear Jayden, as you find eternal peace and happiness in the arms of the angels.
