Obituary

Jim Cecil �J. C.� Gosnell, 83, of 124 Crestview Drive, died Monday, February 10, 2014, at his home. Born in Ware Shoals, he was the son of the late James Hollan Gosnell and Clara McKee Gosnell. J. C. was married to the love of his life, Margie Thomason Gosnell, for 60 years. He bravely and honorably served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he worked at the Ware Shoals Cotton Mills, Devore Andrews and retired at Rainbow Signs. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #91 where he was Past Master and also a member of Hodges Methodist Church for many years, where he was on the Administrative Board, Board of Trustees, Pastor/Parish Relations Committee, Finance Committee and active with the United Methodist Men. He was preceded in death by a son, Greg Gosnell; a brother, Wayne Gosnell; and three sisters, Brennie G. Campbell, Nettie Gosnell and Lenora G. Cox. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a sister, Almetta Smith of Hendersonville, N.C.; special �adopted� children, Alvin and Debbie Cathcart; and several special nieces and nephews.. Pallbearers will be John Lindley, Chad Cathcart, Jim Smith, Cecil Campbell and Alvin Cathcart. Honorary escort will be the men of the church. Memorials may be sent to a charity of one�s choice. The family is at the home.
