Jean Cockrell Fuller, 68, of Greenwood, wife of Robert "Bob" Fuller, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Edgefield, she was a daughter of the late Robert James Cockrell and Carrie Belle Rodgers Cockrell. Jean retired from Kentucky Fried Chicken (K.F.C.), dedicated employee of Frank Whiteford, after twenty-three years.
Jean's true joy came from her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, always putting her family first. Her marriage to her beloved husband, Bob, was a beautiful testament to love and commitment, spanning an incredible fifty years filled with unwavering devotion.
Known for her vibrant personality and infectious sense of humor, Jean never met a stranger. Jean's weekends were spent visiting local yard sales, a passion that allowed her to explore and connect with her community in a unique way.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her son, Brooks B. Fuller (Heather); sister, Judy C. Bannister (Danny); brother, Robert James "Jimmy" Cockrell, Jr.; grandchildren, Bobby Butler (Jessica), Carson Pittman, and Bailey Fuller (Dewey); great grandchildren, Waylon Harling and Addyson Butler; along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Bates and Rev. Frank Fuller, Jr. officiating. Per Mama Jean, blue jeans are welcome. She wanted to "keep it causal".
The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Self Regional Medical Center in the ICU staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont; and granddaughter, Bailey for their love and care.
Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Greenwood, PO Box 49776, Greenwood, SC 29649 (
