Jean Sanders Funderburk, 80, wife of Charles Edward (Buddy) Funderburk, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at her home.

Born and raised in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Olin Sanders and Bessie Mae Ellenberg Sanders. She was a member of Greenwood Lutheran Church.

Jean enjoyed her years as the wife of a Navy pilot. She and Buddy lived in a dozen different cities before retiring to Greenwood in 1989. She loved reading, volunteering, and staying active with her daughters' activities.

Surviving, in addition to her devoted husband of 61 years, are her two daughters, Laurie Funderburk Zentz (Don) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Lisa Reed of Greenwood; grandchildren Danielle and Andrea Zentz of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Linda Sanders Waits (Danny) of Greenwood and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Harley Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 27 with Pastor John Richter officiating, with visitation at 10:00 am prior to the service.

Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her name to Greenwood Lutheran Church, 516 East Laurel Ave. Greenwood, SC 29649.

The family is at the home of Linda and Danny Waits, 210 Pecan Drive.
