Jean Carol Garland, 78, of Edgefield, beloved wife of Forrest Arthur Garland passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023, at NHC of Greenwood.

Born on December 17, 1944, in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late John Carroll Chapman and Betty Simmons Chapman. Jean pursued her education diligently and obtained a Master's degree in social work from the University of South Carolina. She devoted her professional life to making a positive impact as a clinical therapist with Anderson Youth Association. Jean indulged in her passion for breeding and showing Shetland Sheepdogs dogs. Her dedication to this hobby resulted in the breeding of AKC and UKC Champions. Jean was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Pelzer, South Carolina.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are daughters, Shelley Senseney and her husband, Dale and Leslie Saylor.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Thursday at Greenville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Johnnie Waller officiating.
