Jean Louise Ledebuhr, 97, of 906 Eagles Harbor Drive, widow of Chaplain (COL) Albert F. Ledebuhr, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at her home.
Born in St. Louis, MO, she was a daughter of the late Frank Keightley and Marie Quigley Keightley. She was a graduate of Washington University and served in the US Marines during World War II achieving the rank of Sergeant. Following the war, Jean was a librarian at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, where she met her husband. She was a military spouse and homemaker in Erlangen, Germany, Fort Hamilton, NY, Fort Belvoir, VA, Fort Leavenworth, KS, Fort Lee, VA, St Louis, MO, Fort Carson, CO, Carlisle Barracks, PA, Fort Benning, GA, Heidelberg, Germany, and Fort Monroe, VA. She was a member of West End Presbyterian Church in Richmond, VA. She deeply loved her Lord and family. She will be missed for her quiet resolve and humor, delicious meals, and love of literature and reading. Jean was a lady in the truest sense of the word.
Surviving are her children, Merle Ledebuhr of Hampton, VA, Amy Bandi (William) of Oklahoma City, OK, Major (RET) Charles K. Ledebuhr (Janet) of the home, and Heidi Ledebuhr of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in St. Louis, MO.
Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
