Sylvia Jean Chapman Taylor, 78, of 101 Frances Street, wife of Rallie E. Taylor, died Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Hospice House.

Born in Gainesville, GA., she was a daughter of the late Oscar W. and Alice Iona Perry Chapman. She was a member of New Market Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 62 years is her sister, Virginia Elizabeth Harvley of Greenwood.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy J. Dampier.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at New Market Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Sprouse officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service on Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to New Market Baptist Church Building Fund (outside shelter), 906 Ninety Six Highway, Greenwood, SC 29646.
