Esther Jeanette Lomax Kennedy, 80, of 596 Whitten Road, Waterloo, wife of Harry L. Kennedy, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Monroe, GA., she was a daughter of the late Ernest J. and Sara Collins Lomax. She was retired from Dundee Mills in Georgia and Greenwood Mills, Harris Plant. She was a member of Ninety Six Church of God.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are two children, Terrie Couch of Griffin, GA. and Roger Kennedy of Anderson; six sisters, Virginia Clary, Nina Turner (Clark), both of Greenwood, Faye Horne (Ronnie), Joyce Horne (Mike), both of Hodges, and Linda Pound (Robert) of Lexington; three brothers, James Lomax (Melba) of Iva, Donald Lomax (Darlene), and Ray Lomax (Debbie), both of Greenwood; two brother -in-laws, Roy Kennedy of Smithville, NC and George Kennedy of West Columbia, SC; a sister-in-law, Ann Alexander of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Paige Bailey and her husband, Brent, of Washington, GA and Chase Ramsey of Hampton; six great grandchildren, Chaze, Slade, Brenton, Joshua, Carter and Savannah; two great-great grandchildren, Bentley and Canon; and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Massey and a brother, Dennis Lomax.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Strickland and Rev. Milton Stubblefield officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
