Jerry Blackwell, 75, of 756 E. Stagecoach Road, Cross Hill, husband of Sandra Sain Blackwell, died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Polk County, NC, he was a son of the late Floyd Leander Blackwell and Eva Peace Blackwell. Jerry was a general contractor, owner of Blackwell Construction Inc. and was a member of the National Homebuilders Association. He attended Newspring Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are four children, Michael Blackwell (Tara) of Abbeville, Lori Tisler (Joe) of Moore, Dean Hart of Cross Hill and Patty Blackwell (Jenny) of Spartanburg; a sister, Polly Deloach of Cross Hill; a brother, Robert Blackwell of Tryon, NC; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Alley officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday before the service from 2 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Upstate SC Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
