Jerry Lea Mountz, 84, of 118 Sherwood Drive, husband of Doris Jean Hahlen Mountz, died Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Salem, OH, he was a son of the late Lester and Minnie Mountz. He was a truck mechanic with Davidson Sales & Services and also worked for Perry Township and Mountz Glass. He was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church and New Alexander Christian Church in New Alexander, OH.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Terry Mountz (Mary) of Camden, DE; Sam Mountz (Vanesa), and Tim Mountz, both of Greenwood; sisters, Donna Naylor of Salem, OH, Judy Blackburn (Chester) of Pikeville, KY, Sandy Grubb (Dave) of Hanoverton, OH; brother, Jim Mountz (Mary Ellen) of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, T.J. Mountz (Samantha), Jed Mountz, Lauren Johnson (Shan), Kristen Mountz, Brandy Pendley (Derek), Colton McBride, Nick Mountz (Shannon), and Regan Mountz; and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Mohr; brothers-in-law, Jim Mohr and Bob Naylor; and sister-in-law, Desa Mountz.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Mohr and Rev. Michael Ventrello officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Derek Pendley, Shan Johnson, Nick Mountz, T.J. Mountz, Colton McBride, Adam O'Dell, and Jed Mountz.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
