Jessie Bell Jackson, 80, of Ninety Six, formerly of Neeses, SC, widow of Hubert Williams, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Orangeburg, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Lola Chavis Altman.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jackson and Mary Williams; two brothers, Linny and Hattie Altman; and two granddaughters, Jessica Merrick and Mandy Corder.
Surviving are her children: James "Bubba" Jackson of Salley, SC, Ray Jackson (Donna) of Ninety Six, Linda Rutland (Raymond) of Orangeburg; Brenda Jackson of North, Deborah Young of Red Bank, Jessie M. Williams of Glen Falls, NY, Lola Keith (John) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Gussie NeSmith (Dale) of Salley; three sisters, Carolyn Chavis of North, Fannie Williams and Gale Hughes, both of Orangeburg; two brothers, Junior Altman (Jeannette) of Orangeburg and Clyde Altman (Lou Ellen) of Cordova; sixteen grandchildren; and thirtyfive great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday at Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Howle officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 2-3 pm.
The family is at the home of her son, Ray Jackson, 305 Johnston Road, Ninety Six.
