James "Jim" Douglas McColl, 80, of 117 Creek Road East, husband of Ruth Dixon McColl, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home.

Born in Bennettsville, he was a son of the late David McColl and Willie Mae McColl. He received his masters in education from Western Carolina University and went on to having a lifelong career coaching football at McCormick High School. Coaching football was Jim's passion but he also loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandson, Noah, who had a smile that melted his heart. Jim also enjoyed golfing and taking trips to the Masters in Augusta.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; son-in-law, Charles Bowick; brother, David McColl; grandchildren, Tyler Bowick, Samantha Bowick, Jamie Bowick (Abbygail Collins), and Shawn Bowick; and great grandson, Noah Bowick.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Bowick.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.

Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Bethlehem Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Harrison officiating.
