James R. �Jimmy� Bannister, Jr., 68, of 226 Elliott Street, husband of Paulette Bollinger Bannister, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at his home. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James Roy and Marie Harmon Bannister. He was a 1959 graduate of Greenwood High School, attended Clemson University and received his B.A. degree from Lander College. He retired in 2006 from Cooper Power Systems and received two U. S. Patents for inventions involving capacitators. He served in the US Army and the Army Reserves for 22 years, was a member of North Side Baptist Church and the Senior Men�s Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife of the home; three daughters, Lorrie Thompson and her husband, Greg, of Mauldin, Terri Truelove of Anderson, IN and Georgianna Norman and her husband, Tim, of Greenwood; a brother, Dr. Brooks Bannister and his wife, Libby, of Hartsville; seven grandchildren, April Skidmore, Kristen Jordan, Steven Coleman, Lee Ishman, Jessica Cure, Connie Carroll and Nicole Norman; six great grandchildren.
