James Christopher "Jimmy" Jay, 49, of 127 Henderson Street, Greenwood, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Hospice House.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Leon and Brenda Minor Jay. Jimmy was the former assistant manager with The Budd Group. He received his Associates degree in Ministerial studies and was a member of Restoration Ministries.
Surviving are his parents of Ninety Six; four children; Andrew Jay and his wife, Kristen, Erin Jay and her fiancée Trevor Ashley, Tyler Jay and Brianne Jay, all of Greenwood; two sisters, Pam Banks and her husband, Robbie, of Greenwood and Tracy Gonce and her husband, Phil, of Ninety Six; three brothers, Richard Jay and his wife, Paige, Randall Jay and his wife, Lisa, of Ninety Six and Travis Jay and his girlfriend, Suzanna Macias; two grandchildren, Blakely and Macy Jay; and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at REALife Ministries with the Rev. Jason McCary and Rev. Todd Raugh officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Rabon and Rev. Brian Brock officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chris Koerber, Chris Wilson, Storm Williams, Justin Crenshaw, Scotty Sherfield, Derek Jones and Eddie Moss.
Honorary escort will be employees of The Budd Group, employees of Capsugel, The Amish Oven family along with Bill and Rhonda Crenshaw, Steve and Phyllis Rivers, Mike and Angie Knight, Esther Haston and Marcia McCary.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.
The family is at the home of his parents, 4511 Ninety Six Highway, Ninety Six.
