James "Jimmy" William Tucker, 87, of Ninety Six, widower of Nancy Ginn Tucker, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home.
Born in Joanna, he was a son of the late Elijah and Stella Tucker.
Jimmy served in the United States Army during the Korean war. He retired from Greenwood Mills and was a member of Ninety Six Church of God for many years. An avid gardener, he took great pride in making his yard beautiful and loved giving "flower tours". His passion was music. Jimmy loved to sing and was known for his rich voice. He sang in the choir at church and loved southern gospel and classic country music. He cherished the time spent camping with his wife and grandchildren, creating lasting memories by the lake and in the mountains.
Surviving are his children, Rene Miller, Lisa Williamson and Mitchell Tucker (Vivian); sister, Loretta Tucker (Gerald); grandchildren, Joey Miller (Michelle), Chris Miller (Jennie), Justin Miller (Sabrina), Megan Morgan (David), Amy Williamson, Brandon Tucker and Cody Tucker; and great grandchildren, Jonathan, Mikinlee, Aniah, Adrienne, Shaun, Ayla, Kaia, Tyson, Akira and Alijah.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Shirleen Fuller and Eldon Tucker; and son in law, Danny Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home.
