Joseph "Jo-Jo" Lyle Thompson, 69, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James William Thompson, Sr. and Betty Padgett Thompson. He was a 1972 graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Monsanto. Jo-Jo was an avid Gamecock fan, rarely finding him in anything other than his Gamecock gear. He had a passion for golf and could mostly be located on one of the courses around town. He had the biggest infectious smile and loved to always keep his friends and family laughing.

He is survived by his brother, David B. Thompson (Kim) of Pacolet; niece, Kelly Davis of Batesburg; cousin, Mary Jo Snowden; and special friend, Angela Rowland.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Jane Davis and brother, James "Jimmy" William Thompson, Jr.

A celebration of life will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Sports Break.
