Joseph Heyward Eddy, Jr., 72, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Hospice House. Born in Ninety Six, he was a son of the late Joseph Heyward Eddy and Margaret Sue Bigger Eddy. He is survived by his two sisters, Rosemary E. Vaughn (John D.) and Peggy E. Griffin (James P.); three nephews, two nieces and their families. Mr. Eddy was a former teacher and a long time toy salesman. He loved laughter and was an avid fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He relished the fall and enjoyed watching and talking about football. Mr. Eddy never met a stranger. After meeting a friend of his nephew, he noted, �I�m everybody�s Uncle Joe!� Whether he lived in Miami, Memphis, Atlanta or Ninety Six, his passion in life was his great love for his nephews, nieces and their families. He will always be their Uncle Joe and, even now, they hear the divine echoes of his hearty laugh.
