Joseph Avery �Joe� Boyd, 59, of 5710 Highway 178 South, husband of Laura Saxon Boyd, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Clinton, he was a son of the late Joseph Merrell and Ruthie Lee Fellows Boyd. He was retired from Daniel Construction and was the owner of Jody�s Stripping and Refinishing. He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph Lee �Jody� and Amanda Boyd of Ninety Six and Jackie Mooney of Callison; a stepdaughter, Sylvia Sandola of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, Gracie Averyanna Boyd, Destiny Maggard, Brittany Loftis, Ashley Randall, Morgan Mooney, Mark Mooney, Summer Sandola and Hope Sandola; four great grandchildren; his grandmother, Gladys Link of Abbeville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Gennie and Odis Wilkerson and Shirley Boyd Pelfery, all of Valdosta, GA; mother-in-law, Dorothy Young of Abbeville; father-in-law and his wife, Larry and Jackie Saxon of Abbeville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Amelia Saxon and Jimmy Saxon, all of Abbeville, Robert and Betty Saxon of Calhoun Falls; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kristen and Brad Stone of Abbeville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph A. Boyd II; his brother, Thomas M. Boyd and a nephew, Thomas M. Boyd, II.
