Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of Florence Jeanette Merrill Henderson and the late Joseph Lynn Henderson, Sr. He was a graduate of Lander University, where he received his B.A. degree in Business. Joe was an insurance agent with American General, with an L.U.T.C. designation. He served in the SC Army National Guard and was a former member of Star Fort National Golf Club. Joe was an active member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Surviving is his wife of the home and his mother of Greenwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Tim Barrett of Greenwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Josh Ryan and Alison H. Henderson of Hodges; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Ed Suddeth of Greenwood; brothers and sisters-in-law, Casey and Mary Henderson of Ware Shoals and Stan and Judy Henderson of Waterloo; and two grandchildren, Sommer Barrett and Parker Henderson.
