John Douglas Bell, 68, of Ninety Six, husband of Elizabeth Simmons Bell, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 20, 1948 in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Jody M. and Jewel Johnson Bell. John retired from Hodges Concrete and was of the Church of God faith.

Surviving in addition of his wife of the home are a son, David Bell and his wife, Tammy, of Greenwood; a sister, Virginia Sears and her husband, Wayne, of Hodges; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm on Sunday at North Greenwood Church of God with the Rev. Al Kissiah and Mr. Charles Sullivan officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 2 to 3 pm.

Family members are at their respective homes.
