John Earl Lipscomb, 88, of 2613 Old Laurens Road, widower of Kathleen Bond Lipscomb, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Ninety Six, he was the son of the late Johnnie Lawton and Fannie Smith Lipscomb. He retired from the U. S. Army having served in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. Mr. Lipscomb was a member of Laurel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Evelyn Kay Lipscomb and Linda Gail Lipscomb and by a brother George Lipscomb. Surviving are a son John Earl Lipscomb, Jr. and his wife Laurie of Fall City, TX; two daughters: Linda Barrett and her husband Mike of the home, and Earline Coker and her husband Donnie of Roebuck, SC; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. The family is at the home.
