John Harold "Nooney" Collins, Jr, 87, of Greenwood, widower of Harriet Fallaw Collins, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Ware Shoals, SC he was a son of the late John Harold Collins, Sr. and Theresa Florence Johnson Collins.

Harold (Nooney) proudly served as a Corporal in the Army National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country. A former member of Beulah Baptist Church, Harold (Nooney) shared his love for music by singing in the choir. He later became a member of Emerald Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir and attended brotherhood breakfast. Harold (Nooney) never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face, loved his family very much and his wife of 59 years was the love of his life. During those years, they cherished the opportunity to visit nursing homes, bringing joy and inspiration through singing. Harold (Nooney) was also an avid golfer, finding great joy on the course and in the friendships made along the way.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Wayne Collins; a granddaughter, Dawn Elizabeth Balchin; and a brother-in-law, Truman Fallaw.

Surviving are his daughters, Susan Denise Collins Dugger (William) of Jacksonville, FL and Dana B. Henderson (Gregory) of Walhalla, SC; grandchildren, Kenneth Ray Collins of Greenwood, SC, Heather Leann Silvia of Jacksonville, FL, Angela Jester (Michael) of TX, Joshua Kyle Henderson (Megan) of Whitehouse, TX, Denny Ray Balchin, Jr. (Krista) of Seneca, SC, Thomas Brandon Balchin of Wilmington NC, Zachariah Lynn Henderson (Lauren) of Wilmington, NC; fifteen great grandchildren; brothers, William Collins (Margaret) of Summerville, SC and James Marion Collins (Judy) of Donalds, SC; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Collins of Honea Path, SC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Harley Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
