John A. Sartin, 98, of 110 McNeill Avenue, husband of Janie Jordan Sartin, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Franklin County, GA, he was a son of the late John Calvin and Bessie Kelly Sartin. He moved to Greenwood in 1949 to help with the construction of Self Memorial Hospital and then went on to work with Greenwood Mills in the Maintenance and Construction Department, retiring in 1970. Mr. Sartin was a member of Trinity Baptist Tabernacle. Surviving is his wife of the home; four sons, Harvey Sartin of Greenwood, John Sartin (Jessica) of Homosassa, FL, Loy Sartin and Wayne Sartin (Gail), both of Greenwood; two daughters, Debra Lesley (Butch) of Greenwood and Beverly Doolittle (Tommy) of West Columbia; a brother, Billy Sartin of Greenwood; nine grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
