John Courtney White, Sr., 87, formerly of 1548 Parkway, Pineridge Apts. Greenwood, died March 9, 2013 at Saluda Nursing Center. Born in Clinton, SC, he was the son of the late John Milton and Olivia Boggs White. He was a transmission specialist at George Ballentine Ford and worked for Greenwood County after his retirement from the dealership. He served in WWII in the US Army, and in the Korean War as a US Marine. Mr. White was of the Baptist Faith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are three children; Vickie Bell of Greenwood, Kathi Leopard and her husband Tony of Ninety Six, and John C. �Johnny� White, Jr., also of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Williams and her husband Sean of Greenwood, Toni Michelle Leopard of Greenville, SC, Justin Leopard and his wife Ashleigh, Jonathan T. White, Ray Boyd, Austin Bell, all of Greenwood, and Tammy B Dowdy and her husband Russell of Anderson. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Justin Leopard, Sean Williams, Mike Leopard, Johnny White Jr., Jonathan White and Jimmy Brock. The family is at the home of his daughter, Kathi 719 Wilson Bridge Rd. in Ninety Six.
