John L. "JL" Willing, 92, of 110 Hatchers Pass, husband of Linda Shadoan Willing, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Hospice House.

Born in Aiken, SC, he was a son of the late John and Marie Rhoden Willing. He was retired from Greenwood Supply Company and served in the US Army during World War II. JL was a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Alewine Willing; a son, Barry Lamar Willing; a brother, Marvin Willing; and a sister, Minnie Mae Temples.

Surviving is his wife of the home; a daughter, Lynda Gayle Richards (Hank) of Greenwood; two step daughters, Tiffany Shadoan Pollock (Bradley) of Fayetteville, GA and Wendy Willingham (Tommy) of Joanna; a step son, Shane Lawton (Susan) of Clinton; a sister, Margaret Bryan of Edgefield; a brother, David Willing (Martha) of Aiken; a sister-in-law, Virginia Willing of Edgefield; grandchildren, Travis Dudley, Tyler Dudley, Andrew Dudley, Holly Willing, Brandon Willingham, and William Scott; six great grandchildren; and his beloved pets, Miss Chloe and Mr. Fritz.

Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Harris officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Brad Pollock, Travis Dudley, A.P. Stockman, III, Dr. William F. Darby, Jr, Andrew Darby, Stephen Davis, and Todd Whittington.

Honorary escort will be Andrew Dudley, Tyler Dudley, Dr. J. Roland McKinney, A. Pierce Stockman, Dr. Enis James, Dr. Mark Bartz, Dr. Bruce Gray, Richard Harrison, and Chuck Bell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm.
