John Charles Wood, 83, formerly of 945 Relax Street, Waterloo, widower of Shirley Bridges Wood, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Comer Health & Rehab, Comer, GA. Born in Gastonia, NC, he was a son of the late Charlie and Berdie Daley Wood. He was self-employed and was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Surviving are six daughters, Natalie Porter and Sheila McCabe, both of Waterloo, Linda Gambrell of Laurens, Teresa Howell (Freddy) of Colvert, GA, Sheila Evans of Greenwood and Kay Manyard of Anderson; a sister, Frances Nichols of Smyrna; a brother, Daniel Wood of Gastonia, NC; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
