Joseph Alton Dodgen, Sr. 81, of 602 Marshall Road, widower of Joann Rippy Dodgen, died Friday, February 19, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 18, 1934 in Greenwood, Joseph was a retired supervisor from Greenwood Mills-Mathews Plant where he was in the Quarter Century Club twice. He loved fishing and his Pomeranian, Smokey.
Surviving in addition to his granddaughter, Carmen Dodgen of the home; are his children, Joseph A. Dodgen, Jr. (Tonya) of Waterloo, Kim Shirley (Larry) of Hodges, Joseph B. Dodgen, Jr. of Shoals Junction and Vanessa Long; and grandson, Jason Shirley (Betty Jo) of Greenwood.
The family is at the home.
