Joyce Scott Gunnells, 79, of 425 East Sproles Avenue, wife of Robert Earlie Gunnells, Sr., died Friday, July 10, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late George Willard and Lillie Cockerill Scott. Joyce retired from Parke Davis and was a member of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she formerly taught childrens Sunday school, was a member of the Women's Ministry, and served as Secretary and Treasurer for a number of years. Surviving are her husband of the home; one daughter, Cindy Foshee (David) of Columbia; a son, Bob Gunnells (Jeannette) of Greenwood; three sisters, Nancy Scott of Ninety Six, Sandra Corley (Bee) of Enoree and Peggy Watkins of Cashiers, NC; one brother, Bobby Scott of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Joe Hindsley (Jan) of Columbia, Ken Freeman of Richmond, VA, and Katie Foshee of Charleston; and one great grandchild, Julia Hindsley of Columbia. Honorary escort will be her nephews and the members of the Women's Ministry of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church.
