Barbara Joyce Davis Jones, 77, of Greenwood, wife of Willie Edward Jones, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at her home.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Milton L. Davis and Virginia Murphy Davis. Joyce had a passion for reading, and her love for books was well-known among her friends and family. She often found solace and inspiration in the pages of her favorite novels, with a particular fondness for the magical world of Harry Potter.

Joyce was a dedicated wife to her beloved husband, Edward, for sixty years. Their love was a true testament to the beauty of companionship and commitment. She also found immense joy in being a grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She had a special place in her heart for her chihuahua baby, Cricket. The bond they shared was one of unconditional love and companionship. Cricket brought immense joy and comfort to Joyce's life, and they cherished every moment spent together.

She is also survived by her two daughters, Mary Frances J. Boswell and Barbara Ann Mohr (Mike); sister, Mary Barton (Chuck); brothers, Bennie Davis (Donna) and Milton Davis (Peggy); grandchildren, Holly Jones Way (Dwight), Ashley Wilkes (Christopher), Brandon Boswell (Cassandra), Shawn Boswell, Dustin Boswell, Crystal Cartmell (Paul), Sam Stewart, and Chris Stewart (Angel); and twenty three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie E. Jones and son-in-law, Wesley Turnage.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.
