Mattie Juanita Hancock Goldman, 80, of 317 Eddy Road in Ninety Six, passed away on Friday December 6, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late J.C. and Minnie Barnes Hancock and the widow of the late Kenneth Hunter Goldman all of Ninety Six. She lived a devoted life to God, her family, and her church, Ninety Six Church of God. She was a very compassionate and loving person who performed many selfless acts to always help those in need. She was a jewel in everyone�s eyes and no one knew it better than her husband of 60 years who called her �Sapphire�. She was a graduate of Ninety Six High School and employed with Greenwood Mills, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club and retired after 44 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, James and Rev. C. Eugene Hancock, 3 sisters, Ruth Gunter, Mary Smith and Hazel Holladay, a granddaughter, Michael Katherine Goldman and a great grandson Patrick James Woodall. Surviving are her sons, Ronnie and Tim Goldman; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Johnny Martin; daughter, Terri Wooten; and son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jennifer Goldman; eleven grandchildren, Jenna and Bill Britt, Keller Goldman, Hunter and Rheanne Canfield, Krissie Canfield, Tray and Amber Martin, Austin Wooten, Ayla Wooten and Hampton Goldman; twelve great grandchildren, Brady, Kennedy, Emory, Jordan, Jayden, Khloe, Sean, Terry, Jonathan, Joshua, Brennan and Addyson and one great-great grandchild, Emma Pearl. Also surviving is a brother and sister-in-law Rev. Howard and Naomi Hancock of Baltimore MD; along with many other in-laws, Ned and Theone Goldman, Ted and Marie Goldman, Mary Ann, Ruth, Helen and Jimmie Goldman, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Keller Goldman, Hunter Canfield, Tray Martin, Austin Wooten, Jonathan Woodall, Joshua Bush, Brady and Emory Britt, Jordan Canfield and son-in-law, Keith Wooten. Honorary escort will be Walt and Helen Pruitt, Thomas and Jean Crawford, Ed and Brenda Stewart, Rudolph and Hilda Sims, the members of her Bridge Club, and the members of the Sanctuary Class of Ninety Six Church of God.
