Juanita Motes Vanderford, 80, formerly of 106 Buggy Court, widow of Donald Eugene Vanderford, died Monday, December 23, 2019 at NHC of Laurens.

Born in Joanna, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Effie Morgan Motes. She was retired from Clinton Mills and was a former member of Whitehall Church of God.

She was preceded in death by grandchildren, Suzanne Bolt and Bennett Vanderford; her sisters, Gertrude Garland, Valerie Teasley and Virginia Leopard; her brother, George Motes and half-sister, Joyce Davis.

She is survived by her children, Ricky Joe Vanderford of Joanna, Anita V. Hostetler (Dennis) and Susie V. Allen (Ronnie) both of Waterloo; half-brother, George McCullough of Newberry; twelve grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Lakewood Family Worship Center with the Rev. Russell Addis and the Rev. Triston Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Darrell Lawson, Shane Allen, Joey Allen, Austin Allen, Triston Lawson, A. J. Lawson, Stephen Lawson and Levi Allen.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
