Obituary

Judge Thomas Phillips, Jr., 81, of 1803 McCormick Highway, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at his home. Born in Royston, GA, he was a son of the late Judge T. Phillips, Sr. and Minnie Collins Phillips. Mr. Phillips retired from Greenwood Mills- Mathews Plant #3 after 43 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Mathew Masonic Lodge #358, a member of Hardees� Breakfast Club and a member of Trinity Baptist Tabernacle Church where he was a former deacon and in the Men�s Sunday School Class. Surviving are a loving wife, Catherine Barnes Phillips, of 62 years; five children, Scarlet Phillips of Greenwood, Wanda Brown of Waterloo, Kathy Blizzard of Greenwood, Judge Thomas Phillips, III of Orlando, Florida and Raymond Phillips of Greer; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charlie, Rufus and Denver Phillips, two sisters, Edna Baugh and Kathleen Pullian and a grandson, Judge Thomas Phillips, VI. He was the last immediate survivor of his family. Pallbearers will be Christopher Huber, Edward Brown, Richard Brown, Earl Blizzard, Jr., Andrew Phillips and Thomas Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jesse Wallace, Tony Phillips, Ray Ouzts, William Perry, Clyde Blizzard, Eddie Royston, Jimmy Raine, the members of the Breakfast Club and the Men�s Sunday School Class. The body will be placed in the church at 1 P.M. on Friday. The family is at the home.
