Julia Byrd, 70, of Saluda, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Greenwood, SC. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Heyward and Gilda Clary Salters. Julia lived a life beautifully rooted in faith, family, and the simple joys of home. As a devoted homemaker, she cherished having everyone gathered around her table, always feeding her family and friends with delicious, home-cooked meals. Whether she was nurturing her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, crocheting a new project, or spoiling her favorite grand dogs, her gentle spirit shone through. She was a deeply spiritual woman who loved God, loved animals, and loved studying her bible. She was a lifelong member at Siloam Baptist Church. She will be remembered most for her immense love for her family and her passion for keeping everyone together. Surviving are her husband, James Byrd; daughter, Stephanie Griffin; sons, Samuel Green (Holly Valente) and JD Byrd; sister, Betty Ann; brothers, Larry Salters, Mose Salters (Robin), and Brooks Salters (Marianda); and a grandchild, Jacob Griffin. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Siloam Baptist Church.The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will take place in the Siloam Baptist Church cemetery.
