Irvin Edgar Madden, Jr., 76, of 430 Morgan Avenue, husband of Claudette Simmons Madden, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in Laurens, he was a son of the late Irvin Edgar Madden, Sr. and Ola Mae Boland Madden. He received his BS degree in textile managment from Clemson University and retired as a supervisor in the Service Department of Greenwood Mills, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church and the Men�s Bible Class. Surviving is his wife of the home; a daughter, Tracy M. Goldman and her husband, Jason, of Greenwood; a son, Walter Madden and his wife, Gail, of Hodges; and four grandchildren, Jeremi Madden, Samuel Madden, Autumn Goldman and Noel Goldman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel L. Madden.
