Kaden Shawn Ward,18, beloved son, brother, and grandson, who left us too soon on February 13, 2025, at his home. Born in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of Shawna Hinson and the Late Kenneth S. Ward.
Kaden was more than just a typical teenager; he was a unique spirit with an unmistakable style, always sporting his favorite fedora. His love for hats began with a cherished Hot Wheels fedora that he wore with pride until it was too small. Kaden was known for his love of creativity, particularly in building legos, a passion that allowed him to express himself in unique and colorful ways. He often carried these creations with him, sharing sharing his creations or displaying them around the house. From a young age, Kaden also developed a fascination with collecting Hot Wheels. Eccentric and talented, Kaden had a passion for music that resonated deeply in his soul. Affectionately dubbed "Music Man" by his mother, he could play the guitar like a seasoned pro, effortlessly picking up any tune by ear. Metal and classic rock were his favorites, but his musical taste was as diverse as his personality. Kaden had also begun to write his own music and lyrics, pouring his heart into every note.
He had a sweet tooth for chocolate chip cookies, often declaring the entire container his own-don't even think about asking him to share! Kaden was a true animal lover, with a special fondness for cats, and he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like being outdoors and building things. Driving gave him peace, clearing his mind as he cruised along. He was a true big brother and loved his siblings deeply.
He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth S. Ward and step grandfather , William Hansen, Jr.
Kaden leaves behind his loving mother Shawna (Richard Michaels); his brother Ryan Schumpert; sister Emily Hinson; grandparents Bill Hinson, Jr. and Lee Hansen; aunt Rhonda Pittman (Tracy), and uncles Kevin Hinson (Karlene) and Tommy Mullins. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Rest in peace, Kaden. Your music will forever play on in our hearts.
