Karen Lee Harris Hilliard, 68, of 407 Bolt Avenue, went to be home with the Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Born in Chillicothe, OH on November 6, 1942, she was the only child of Beatrice Stroad Harris Martin and the late Hugh Denver Harris and step-daughter of the late Russell Martin. She was the granddaughter of the late Charles E. and Mabel Brown Stroad and the late Roy and Laurie Fender Harris. She was a 1960 graduate of Buford High School, Buford, OH and a 1991 graduate of Piedmont Technical College, where she was Valedictorian of her beloved nursing class. She retired from Self Regional Healthcare in 1999. Karen faithfully played the piano for Calvary Baptist Church for 25 years and taught the Ladies Sunday School Class for many years. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, whom she cared for, of the home; a son, Kenneth Ray Hilliard, Jr. and his fianc�e, Vicki Vaughn, of Greenwood; two daughters, Alisa Smith and her husband, Ricky, of Ninety Six and Anita Graham and her husband, Ray, of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Flossie Hilliard; former husband, Kenneth Ray Hilliard, Sr. and his wife, Bonnie, all of Greenwood; two aunts, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, Brian and Patrick Hilliard.
