Karen Denise Ward Sullivan, 68, of Greenwood, widow of Johnny Sullivan, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on November 15, 1957 in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late George Robert Ward and Helen Goldman Ward. She was known for her love of flowers and gardening, her affection for her fur babies, KC and Lucy, and her occasional visits to the casino. Karen was a hard worker and cherished by all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her children, James "Jamey" Sheppard, Jr. (Amanda) of Waukesha, WI and Jennifer Gillion of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandchildren,  Tyler Gillion (Selena), James Sheppard III, Amara McAbee (Drew), Maddie Gillion, Lukas Sheppard, and Lila Sheppard; her great-grandchildren , Aedyn, Paisley, Christian, Maverick, Evelyn, Jace, and Maci Rae; sisters, Gayle Pardue and Robin Addison; and brothers, Billy Ray Ward and Joey Ward. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Sheppard.

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
