Euree Arkathern "Kathern" Brooks Lyerly, 90, of Bradley, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 at her home.
Born on January 29, 1935 in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Horace Leroy Brooks and Annie Mae Hart Brooks. Kathern was a hardworking and dedicated individual who spent many years as a valued employee of Greenwood Mills. Following her retirement, she poured her energy into the things she loved most: her faith, her home, and her family.
Above all, Kathern loved the Lord. She found great peace and strength in her relationship with God, spending countless hours reading her Bible and sharing her faith with anyone she met. Her conversations were often seasoned with grace and an eagerness to talk about the goodness of God. She didn't just study her faith; she lived it daily through her kindness and compassion.
Kathern took great pride in creating a warm, welcoming home. For her, "home" was more than a place; it was a sanctuary for her family. She was the heart of her household, finding joy in the simple but profound acts of gardening, cooking, and caring for others. Beyond the walls of her home, Kathern had a zest for life. She enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, always appreciating the beauty of the world around her.
Kathern's life was a testament to the power of a servant's heart. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her generous spirit and unwavering faith.
