Obituary
Kathy Waters Butler, 70, of Greenwood and Savannah, GA, widow of James "Jim" Butler, passed away Wednesday November 22, 2023.
Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late James Leonard Waters and Peggy Warr Waters. Kathy spent many years traveling the world with her husband while he was enlisted in the service. Her favorite time was the seven years they spent in Italy, where she fell in love with the Italian lifestyle and her love for cooking flourished. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her brother, Mike Waters and his wife, Susan of Greenwood; grandchildren, Damien Brightley and Aubry Childress, both of Clovis, NM; nephew, Austin Waters; and cousins, Tanis Lyles and Russell Waters, all of Greenwood.
In addition to her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Davis Brightley.
