Kenneth L. Elmore, Sr. 88, resident of NHC Greenwood, widower of Betty Joyce Walker Elmore, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Born on December 15, 1936 in Greenwood, he was the son of the late LeRoy Elmore and Julia Thrift Elmore. Kenneth was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, who lived a life that centered around family and faith. Family was everything to Kenneth; he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. A man of deep faith, Kenneth was a faithful member of South Greenwood Church of God formerly, now, Restoration Ministries, where he found comfort and strength.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Elmore, Jr. (Teresa) and Tony Elmore; granddaughter, Amber Crowe (Matt); and great grandchildren, Allie Mae Crowe and Della Rae Crowe.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Allison and Jean Starnes.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Rabon and Rev. Johnny Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mark, Zach, and Eli Allison, Robbie Allison, Ronnie Landreth, Bob Fisher, Toby Lackey, and Dan Gibson.
Honorary escort will be the staff of Caris Hospice and NHC of Greenwood.
The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
