Kevin Earle Bracken of Greenwood, SC passed into the hands of God on February 4, 2012. Born on June 16, 1956 in Blackwood, NJ and raised from age 12 in Endwell, NY, he was a 1974 graduate of Maine-Endwell Senior High School. After graduation, he shipped out to Parris Island, SC for basic training as a United States Marine, serving from 1974-1978 as a military policeman at a variety of duty stations including his favorite at Kaneohe Bay, HI. During his time as a Marine, he earned the National Defense Service and Marine Corps Good Conduct medals. Kevin resumed service to our country from 1982-1985 with the United States Army. After field artillery training, he was based in Germany. For many years, before settling in Greenwood full time, Kevin worked as a cross-country truck driver, traveling through most of the continental United States helping the goods of American companies get to market. Kevin was a member of the North Side Baptist Church Sunday evening C-Group and served on the Host and Tech Team. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Jean (Paul) Connelly and stepmother, Marcia Canale-Bracken. He is survived and will be missed by his father, Harry (Peggy) Bracken of North Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Diane (Lee) Funderburk of Greenwood, SC; brother, Gary (Jeanne) Bracken of Spencerport, NY and several nieces and nephews.
