Obituary

Kirby Lee Kellar, 75, of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on September 28, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles Thomas Kellar and Betty Lee Smith Hardy.

Kirby earned her bachelor's degree from Wright State University in Ohio, a testament to her dedication to education and personal growth. She was a TSA Line Supervisor at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, where she served with commitment until retirement.

She was an extreme fan of the Dallas Cowboys and The Ohio State, often seen cheering enthusiastically for her favorite teams. She loved watching sports on TV, especially baseball, football, and tennis, and was an avid bowler who enjoyed the lively spirit of the game. Kirby also had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies, especially her dog, Bella.

She is survived by her sister, Kelly Geisel (Rick); her brothers, David Lee Kellar (Dorothy) and Thomas Benjamin Kellar; her best friend, Susan Sloan; special companion, Bob Rennie; and  numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember her fondly.

Her family, friends, and all who knew her will miss Kirby’s warmth, her joy for sports, and her loving spirit. She lived a life filled with passion for her interests and deep care for those around her. Kirby’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
