Lalar Bagwell Mayfield, 93, formerly of 112 Columbia Street, widow of Walter Vernon Mayfield, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Wesley Commons. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late James Fred Bagwell and Myrtie Lee Brown Bagwell. Lalar retired from Kemet and was a loving mother and great cook. She was of the Church of God faith. She was preceded in death by a son, James Melvin Mayfield and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, Pat Davis and her husband, John of Ware Shoals; a son Gerald Mayfield and his wife, Terri of Greenwood; a daughter-in-law, Becky Mayfield of Greenwood; grandchildren: Robbie Davis and his wife, Stephanie, Tammy Davis and her husband, Jim, Barry Mayfield and his wife, Melissa, Kim Shannon and her husband, Matt, Pam Threlkeld and her husband, Dwayne, Brooke McCants and her husband, Walter and Ashlee Campbell and her husband, Zac; two step grandchildren, Kathy Dixon and Chris Steifle; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robbie Davis, Barry Mayfield, Jim Davis, Dwayne Threlkeld, Matt Shannon and Walter McCants. Family members are at their respective homes. Memorials may be sent to Hospice House, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
