Larry Loren Fair, 78, resident of NHC Greenwood, formerly of 401 Stevens Avenue, husband of Mary Gentry Fair, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Horace and Dorothy Roach Fair. He was a US Army Veteran, where he served in Vietnam and later retired from Solutia after 35 years. Larry's passion was working on cars and he attended Panola United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of the home; his daughters, Ann Doerflein and Lori Lodge (John), both of Troy; brother, Don Fair of Greenwood and Ralph Holtzclaw of Ware Shoals; sister, Sybil Fair of Greenwood ; two grandchildren, Dillon Doerflein (Julie) and Kaleb Lodge ( fiancé, Jamie Tijerina); great grandchildren, Emmett Doerflein and Emory Ann Doerflein, all of Troy; godson, Hunter Holtzclaw of Ware Shoals; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Priska Dickson and MeKenzie Jay for all their loving care at NHC.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a niece, Donna Marie Fair.
Memorial service with military honors will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at Bold Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Keller and Rev. Frank Page officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home.
