Lawrence A. Estes, 71, of 407 Belle Meade Road, husband of Carol Gebhard Estes, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Hospice House. Born in Plymouth, MA, he was the son of the late Arthur G. and Charlotte Lawrence Estes. Mr. Estes was a U. S. Coast Guard veteran and retired from Long Point Marine. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was the Administrative Assistant for the church and school. Surviving is his wife of the home; a son, Jeffery Estes of Greenwood; a daughter, Julie Krim of Plymouth, MA; a sister, Phyllis Blandy of Ft. Collins, CO; and ten grandchildren. Pallbearers will be William Estes, Matthew Estes, Lloyd Boggs, Richard Elrod, David Davis and Olin Stanley. The family is at the home of his son, Jeff Estes, 101 Sherwood Lane, Greenwood. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Calvary Christian School, 2775 Montague Avenue Ext., Greenwood, SC 29649.
