Annie Lee Highsmith Evans, 86, of 503 Markham Road, Bradley, widow of Rev. Archie Rufus Evans, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at her home.
Born in Tullahoma, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Curtis Highsmith and Mabel Lee Davis Highsmith. Lee was a former school teacher having taught at Calvary Christian School in Walterboro and John C. Calhoun Academy. She was a member of Bold Spring Baptist Church where she was in the Ladies Sunday school class and in the AGAPE Women's Ministry in Mt. Olive, NC.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Blackwell and a brother, William C. Highsmith, Jr.
Surviving are her children, Archie Evans (Arden) of Walterboro, Cindy Stanley (Olin) of Bradley and Curtis Evans (Cathy) of Ware Shoals; a son-in-law, Charlie Blackwell of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday at Bold Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Keller and Kevin Hembree officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Evans, Matthew Sparrow, Glenn Coker, Andrew Spell, Curtis Hodges and Andrew Rhodes.
The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 1:30 – 2 pm.
Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
