Jerry Lee Johnson, Jr., 53, of 110 Cherokee Drive, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 while on a cruise. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of Sandra Pope Johnson and Jerry Johnson. Lee was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church, was a 1978 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1982 graduate of The Citadel, where he was 1st Battalion Executive Officer. He was employed by the Jacobson Co. at Solutia Ascend Performance. Surviving is his mother of the home; his father of Mobile, AL; his daughter, Kara Doyle of Ware Shoals and his beloved grandchildren, Aiden and Anna Grace Doyle. Also surviving is his grandmother, Nora Pope, of the home; his sister, Nora Jean Bell (Jeff) of Eatonton, GA; his brother, Dr. Richard DeWitt Johnson (Kelli) of Lumberton, NC; an aunt, Betty Abrams of Greenwood and a very special love, Claudia Rua and her daughter, Sara, both of Greenville.
