John Leon Brooks, 84, of 707 Rushville Road, Bradley, widower of Frances Nabors Brooks died Monday, April 2, 2018 at his home.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Horce Leroy and Annie Mae Hart Brooks. He was retired from Greenwood Mills, Durst Plant and was a US Army veteran. Mr. Brooks was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Mendoza (Mario) of the home; sister, Kathren Lyerly of Callison; brother, Wayne Brooks of Callison; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Brooks and brothers, Barney Brooks, DeWitt Brooks, Edison Brooks, and Grover Brooks.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Private burial will follow at Greenwood Memorials Garden.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The family will be at the home of Mr. Brooks' sister, Kathren, 205 Union School Road, Bradley, SC 29819.
