Elizabeth Calhoun "Lib" Lovvorn of Murrells Inlet, met Jesus face to face on Sunday August 18, 2019, after a courageous five and a half year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in Conway, Lib was the daughter of the late James Alexander Calhoun and Lillian Hendrick Calhoun. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Lib spent many years supporting the Garden City Chapel, Trinity Cathedral and many other charitable organizations. She was an accomplished artist, loved to beach shag and spent many summers at the beach. Lib was loved by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband of fifty five years Bobby, children Rob Lovvorn (Rhonda), Elizabeth Lovvorn Cornelius (Mark) and her grandchildren, Bethany Cornelius Boyd (Ben), Lauren Lovvorn, Cal Cornelius, Philip Lovvorn and Jay Ashley. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Ava Noelle Boyd and her sister in law Mary Lovvorn (Rich). Her wonderful dog Sandy was by her side throughout her illness.
Lib was predeceased by her entire immediate family and her great- granddaughter, Mayson Grace Boyd.
Graveside services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jay Overbay officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery office.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scot Jennings, Dr. Milling, Dr. Karen McCutheon and Dr. Douglas Conaway along with the nurses at Tidelands and Roper Hospitals; her close friends Esther and Jay Overbay and Margaret and David Boylston for their great support. We also want to thank the many people who prayed for her over the last six years.
