Lillian Sowell McDaniel Foshee, 93, resident of Morningside Assisted Living and formerly of Ninety Six, wife of J. Carroll Foshee, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Hospice House.
Born in Wausau, FL, she was a daughter of the late Millard F. and Gussie B. Exum Sowell. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was also a member of the Blyth Road Flower Club and Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member of the Women's Ministries and the Adult #5 Sunday School Class.
She was affectionally known to her family and the community as Granny Mac, MeeMaw, Aunt Elma, Granny and Miss Mac.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Yvonne Dorn (Tony) of Greenwood; a son, William J. "Bill" McDaniel (Kathy) of Waterloo; two nephews raised in the home, Tommy Langley and Warren Langley (Jayn), both of Greenwood; 16 grandchildren, including three raised in the home, Sandy Rae Guest of Hodges, Cecil Guest of Greenwood and Russell Wayne Bagwell-Schein of Olathe, KS; 33 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; two stepdaughters whom she loved very much, Carolyn Munns and Sandra Kidd, both of Greenwood and a brother, Nolan "Cecil" Sowell (Nell) of Amelia Island, FL.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnie B. McDaniel; a daughter, Glenda J. Greatorex; a granddaughter raised in the home, Jackie Ann Guest; sisters, Mildred Langley and Helen Norris and brothers, Bill Sowell and Tillman Sowell.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Brian Brock, the Rev. Louie Murray and her grandson, Matthew Dorn officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Warren Franklin Langley, Jr., Benji Langley, Mickey Goodman, Randall Barrett, Dennis Kelly and Little Rickey Turner.
Honorary escort will be the members of the Adult Sunday School Class of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church and the staff of Morningside Assisted Living.
The family sends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hospice House for their special care.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Tony Dorn.
